Migraine Treatment

There is no specific cure for migraine headaches, however there are lots of drugs available for migraine treatment. These drugs can be classified into following two categories -

  • Pain-relieving medications - Also known as acute or abortive treatment, these types of drugs are taken during migraine attacks and are designed to stop symptoms that have already begun.
  • Preventive Medications - These types of drugs are taken regularly, often on a daily basis, to reduce the severity or frequency of migraines.

Please take medicines on doctor's prescription only. Chronic usage of such pain medications may result in rebound headaches. Migraine patients may also make use of Cefaly electro-therapy device that offers migraine treatment without the use of medication or surgery.
