Tension headache symptoms

· Tension headaches usually begin gradually and often occur in the middle of the day.

· Pain experienced during tension-type headache pain is often described as a constant pressure, as if there's a tight band around their head.

· The pain is frequently bilateral which means it is present on both sides of the head at once.

· Other symptoms of tension headaches may include: headache upon awakening, general muscle aches and fatigue, sleeping difficulty, irritability, problem in concentrating, mild sensitivity to light or noise and occasional dizziness.

· Tension-type headache pain is typically mild to moderate, but may be severe.

· A tension headache can last from 30 minutes to an entire week.

· If you experience tension headache 15 or more days a month for at least three months,the you may be suffering from chronic tension headache.

· In the case you experience tension headaches fewer than 15 times in a month, your headaches are considered episodic.
